OPEN MIC NIGHT!
The o pen mics now take place at Argo Bookshop located at 1915 Ste Catherine West, Montreal. They are held the second and last Thursdays of the month and always feature a headliner who is a published Montreal poet or novelist. Jason Freure hosts the night and welcomes everyone to come and join in.
The open mic is intended as a gathering for people interested in local literature. We welcome you to perform any type of written piece you like, it is not even necessary that you wrote the piece, so long as you have a reason to be reading it. All you have to do is show up and offer to read at any point in the night.
Showing does not mean you have to read, you are welcome to come out and support local artists. You can bring along photos you would like to share or paintings you are working on. The gathering is intended largely to be a time for people to get to know what others in the area are doing artistically and offer each other advice.
