At a young age, Éric wanted nothing more then to be a taxi driver. Later he became obsessed with dinosaurs and wanted to be a Paleontologist. He’s decided against getting a license and never enjoyed digging in the dirt. Still searching for the perfect future, he has changed his mind more often then his socks. One constant in his life has always been stories and so he aspires to someday becoming a novelist, photographer, web designer, and cartoonist. Éric graduated with a degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa in 2006. Since the start of university in 2002, he’s worked 15 different jobs and currently works as Temp. Cheese

by Éric

Chris gave us a challenge related to cheese or wine. I posted my Whine and decided it was time for cheese.

First Chris let me tell you this was a Gouda challenge and a real jump start to the creative Process. At first I could think what to write. So I sat down and told myself Brie-ing it on. I realise this post might make some people Blue and definitely have Marbled reviews but I hope you’ll extend me the Curd-essy to be nice.

In conclusion my post Colby bad but I did my best to Kraft it, I Swiss-h that it’s Oka with you.

(P.S. Sorry)

Writing

by Éric

It’s cold and my heart beats quickly. There is a forest in front of me, dark and dreary. I wonder if I can make it, and I tell myself I have no choice. I need to get to the other side; I need to find my voice.

I start, and at first the trees feel thick, I want to do something else, procrastinate. My mind wanders and I force myself to concentrate.

Then it happens, the worlds unfold. I’m no longer fighting with a tree, it falls before me. I am no longer telling a story but now, to me, it is being told.

It ends and I feel my pride, I know I can get to the other side. The forest seems smaller but I know tomorrow will be, ever so much harder.

Many who work in the industry mock it. Many who study it have decided it is a square vortex of evil. Many more believe it is a vacuous waste of time and energy.

Attempting NaNoWriMo

by Éric

Hello,

I’ve always fancied myself a writer. I’ve always wanted to improve. This year I’ve decided to attempt NaNoWriMo, I’ve set up a few polls at my blog in order to inspire me and I would greatly appreciate your input.

Lighting in the Weston.

by Éric

A Light on the third floor of the Ottawa Westin. I thought it was interesting. Other then making it black and white and cropping a little, I didn’t need to edit it at all.

How to create Orton images in Photoshop:

by Éric

This should work in Photoshop 5 and up, I don’t think it’ll work in Photoshop elements. I’d like to thank my photography teacher Mr. Harry Turner for showing me how to do this.

Fall 2007, Part 2

by Éric

A very simple image, I didn’t have to do any editing on it. I find the contrast and simplicity pretty.
