A portrait of a good friend.

This is a portrait of a beautiful woman. There was an eery light hitting the back wall where she was sitting, which enhanced her skin tone and concealed some of her face with a perfect shadow. I was taking so many photographs just putzing around with my camera that night that she had no idea I was photographing her, which made for a great freeze of her deep in thought (My guess is that she was thinking about the state of the poultry market in Poland).

This dog doesn’t belong to me.

But he’s chased away bears from my path, kept me company under cold snowy tents, and can hike better than a goat.
