The Creative Act

At The Creative Act we are a group of people who believe in the importance of local art. We wish to found a community of artists willing to expose themselves despite any societal norms demanding that we fear such an act. It is our hope that through acts of artistic creation and exhibition people will come together to form a network of support for one another and regain some of what our civilization has lost. The site is designed and intended to be open and inclusive, a place where artists can grow in a positive space.

As the site has grown it has turned more into a workshop type atmosphere. We try to offer our works to each other for commenting. Revisions of works strengthen them. We hope to one day be submitting our works and getting published and win awards. A key component of the site is to help each other to improve our abilities. It is for this reason we hope you see the same thing posted several times, with only minor tweaks.

You can join us in our efforts to have a more local art movement by submitting your work (see submissions) or joining our facebook group. Another way to pitch in is to join us at our open mic nights as a reader or as a supporter. Let us know how involved you would like to be in local art because we are open to new ideas and projects.
