Iggy the Cyclops – A puppet in 3-10 parts

But it’s okay, this is just part 2. Part 1 was “The screwed up first attempt”.
This is what I do to reward myself for progress on my Thesis.
I apologize that this is more discussion of what I’m doing/have done than showing, but I made it a little more entertaining to watch.
I’m also doing this to get an idea of timing in videos/play. Apparently that’s crucial to making things interesting.

After this will be …
3) – Latex casting (perhaps preceded by patching)
4) – painting of the cast
5) – design and construction of body (rod puppet!)
6) – clothes?
Sorry I haven’t been commenting lately. You guys are doing great work!

Oh, and a little something I meant to post before. I may have, come to think of it.
It’s pretty self-explanatory.

Another great video, and the drawing is nice too. Are you thinking of filming a play once your puppets are finnished?

We’re not sure when we’ll do it, but we are likely tofilm. I think that’s the way we’ll have to go to make money and deal with the production as cheaply (time-wise) as possible. One of the major concerns as we begin the process of writing a play (this process is fascinating to me. I’ll be publishing pictures soon) is that the eventual presentation involve as little set-up and tear down as possible. We found that, contrary to many Fringe plays, the set up for puppet plays was EXTENSIVE.
We had to put in a stage for the puppeteers to stand on, behind or both, as well as a proscenium arch, racks for props and puppets, and assorted acoutrements. It instilled in us a love of simplicity, lemme tell you.
