For a Sister’s Birthday
Turning over new leaves
in spring as it abounds
brings to a wandering mind
the faith of seasons past
resplendant in sensations
of the first Spring or the last
and all happiness and colour
that led the way to airey summer
as in each year before
the spring had come and gone once more
but never gone it’s way without
sharing its hope, shedding our doubt
imparting to a special breed
the confidence of a growing seed
(those of us born in March respond)
‘We are the children of the Spring,
and merrily greet it’s approach,
and happily wish it on it’s way,
glad just to see it’s face again,
and cheered by another birthday!’

Thank you very much for the sweet poem Ben!
I am very excited for spring and am hoping it hurries up.
This is probably one of the most creative birthday presents I have ever gotten.
thanks and love you! Deborah

She’s really getting a good start to spring too!
Such a nice poem. I love reading about the weather. It is great to be thankful while it lasts, thanks for sharing. it’s a nice wake up from Canada’s hibernation!

I do not love Spring, really …
But, as the sister of a fantastic brother, I most certainly DO love “siblings love”.
Wonderful poem.
