Fall 2007, Part 2

Cliche Autumn Photos
I regularly challenge the creative actors by offering them themes to write on or think. Disappointed that only Mobileyes has ever taken up a challenge I have come to realize I never post any of these things myself. They are primarily intended as themes to spur action or just to keep people working on things when their own better and more significant ideas are blocked and so are rarely very good. They can however offer insight into things I have never thought about. Here then, are two photos about fall.
The Summer Challenge
8:40 on a summer’s day
a boldy glowing sun
8:20 on a winter’s day
elated snowy fun
8:30 on an autumn day
gold leaves and pumpkin pie
8:50 on a springtime day
rebirth and butterflies
Years come in
and years fade out
Winter’s wind
and summer’s drought
The seasons quickly pass me by
fade in and out
fade in and out
Yet now I let another die
fade in and out
fade in and out
I miss
when years
were longer.
Surrounded
Surrounded
The sordid, the empty
the false, the crude
souls
I surround myself
always
with
them
they assault
the senses
they deprecate
the mind
they eviscerate
the spirit
they demean
the being
I surround myself
always
too much
too little
never just right
I’ll always be goldielocks
trying one more poridge
trying one more friend
trying one more love
just one more time.
maybe
just
maybe
just
maybe
I just take the pictures
Jot.
From Ren:
Roundabout melancholy; The sculptor of this blood-letting jot,
Hosts these series of tarry word smears that escape from
Godless fingers, here in these final days.
The womb has left me impotent and castrated – I am sexless and dead.
Without cessation and abandoned by all opportunity,
All that smiles back is the underbelly cesarean of this evacuated host.
I haven’t the cancer to stomach all of this distilled happiness.
Blurry Beautiful
Bye Mom.
Here I stand; she holds my hand.
The smell of wet earth fills my nostrils, and the late summer sun warms my face. The wind blows foretelling a storm.
Everyone is here but you. No one knows what to say but they all look beautiful. Suits, dresses, nice shoes, and colourful ties contrast the grey, green, and brown.
